Ma’s chocolate slice

Ma’s chocolate slice (inherited from Granny Dodson!)

1 tray 30cm x 20cm

Ingredients:

  • 175g unsalted butter

  • 50g golden syrup

  • 20g cocoa powder

  • 20g caster sugar

  • 250g digestive biscuits

  • 225g milk chocolate

  • 125g dark chocolate

Method:

In a suitable pan melt together the top four ingredients, crush the biscuits quite small with a mixer and the beater attachment or with the end of a rolling pin in a mixing bowl.

Once melted add the crushed biscuits and mix well, line the tray with baking parchment or lightly grease it. Pour the mixture into the tray and spread it evenly.

In a bowl over simmering water melt together the two chocolates. Once melted and smooth spread it with the aid of a palette knife onto the base.

Leave to set for a couple of hours before cutting into oblongs with a warmed knife.
